On 26 April 1995 Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah held a press conference at which he announced the name of the man who carried out the Bint Jbeil operation, Salah Ghandour, "Malak", and showed the film of the operation: the target was a convoy of five troop carriers at the gate of "Centre 17", and the meaning was that operations "go on regardless of the noise of the negotiations". He answered the new Israeli Northern Command chief's slogan of "regaining the initiative" by listing the operations at Dabsheh, Marjayoun, Beaufort and the bomb on the Jarmaq–Sweida road, citing Shahak's statement before the Knesset that "not a day passes without an operation, 50–60 operations a month"; he accused Israel of "a policy of lying and covering up losses" and declared that "Lahd's army is a name without substance… even if two or ten of them remain the resistance will pursue them unless they repent", and that the martyrdom bombers are "many on the lists" and every method is legitimate.
