●Nasrallah's eulogy for Salah Ghandour

PartiesHezbollah

On the first-week memorial of the martyrdom bomber Salah Ghandour, on 2 May, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah eulogised him at a mass gathering, addressing him "Tell them, Salah"; one of the speeches that fixed the martyrdom bomber as a symbol in the party's rhetoric. In the eulogy he described the farewell meeting ("Salah was at the height of righteousness and Malak at the height of the angelic") and said martyrdom is "an act of awareness, knowledge and will", born not of poverty but of the humiliation the arrogant impose, and that the resistance wants Lebanon to become "an Israeli nightmare"; he addressed Rabin, his chief of staff and the "arrogant" Northern Command chief: "Wait for the resistance's mujahideen at every mountain, every valley and every crossroads", raised "neither Gaza for Arafat nor Jerusalem for Arafat", and warned the people of the strip against their sons joining Lahd's army: "Whoever is killed under the banner of the occupation, we have lost him for ever."
