On 6 December 1994 the mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance stormed the fortified Dabsheh position in the occupied zone, killed its garrison of Israelis and collaborators and put the rest to flight; Israel denied the operation on the first day, then admitted it after the broadcast of a film showing a resistance fighter planting the party's flag on the summit of the position, causing an uproar and an inquiry into the "defeat" whose echoes lasted two months. It counted as the first filmed "quality" operation of this scale against a fortified position, and its film proved that the camera had become part of the operation itself.
