✍Frangieh–Syria settlement

On 14 February 1976 Frangieh announced from Damascus the "Constitutional Document" negotiated with Assad: parity in parliament, strengthened powers for the prime minister, and the presidency kept for the Maronites; the Lebanese Front accepted it and the National Movement rejected it because it did not abolish sectarianism.
