●Nasrallah's reply to the indictment
PartiesHezbollahSpecial Tribunal & UN investigation
On 2 July 2011 Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah rejected the indictment issued against four "resistance brothers with an honourable record", describing the tribunal as "American-Israeli", with its president Antonio Cassese and its rules chosen to serve a predetermined aim; he said the investigation had ignored the evidence of Israel's role (the overflights, the arrested agents, an agent at the scene of the crime the day before) and cooperated with it instead of questioning it, and expected the case to pass after thirty days to a trial in absentia that might last "thirty years"; he asked that Mikati's government not be made to bear "what you must not make it bear" and affirmed: "There will be no strife between Sunnis and Shia in Lebanon."
