The election of Bachir Gemayel as president under Israeli pressure, with Israeli tanks outside the parliament building.
Note: A political decision extracted under occupation lacks the condition of free will. Article 52 of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (1969) voids a treaty obtained by the threat or use of force, and an election or agreement held with a foreign army in the capital puts the constitutional institutions in the position of ratifying rather than deciding; it loses legitimacy for a large part of the Lebanese and itself becomes the cause of a new division.
