⚔Fighting in the southern suburbs

Amal's control of many villages of the South and the shift of the fighting to the southern suburbs: Hezbollah took Burj al-Barajneh and most of Haret Hreik, while the movement's fighters remained in Ghobeiry and Chiyah. Despite some 17 ceasefire agreements the fighting continued. It had been preceded by scattered skirmishes between the two parties in the suburbs since 1986 against the background of the War of the Camps, but the battle of May 1988 was the first all-out one.
