⚔Remains of the soldiers held by ISIS recovered
On 27 August 2017, as Operation "Dawn of the Outskirts" ended, the army commander Joseph Aoun announced the discovery of the remains of eight of the nine soldiers ISIS had kidnapped in Arsal in 2014, as part of the agreement to evacuate the organisation's fighters to Deir ez-Zor. On 28 August Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah described the agreement to evacuate some 670 ISIS people (331 civilians, 308 fighters and 26 wounded) by bus towards al-Bukamal as "a surrender operation", not a truce, and said the soldiers' remains had been located and handed over through coordination between General Security, the army and local guides, in exchange for the remains of the party's fighters, asking about the army: "The army that was able and is still able, who stopped it?" Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah declared 28 August "the second liberation day" after the completion of the liberation of the whole Lebanese–Syrian outskirts.
