On 7 August 2020, three days after the port explosion, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah denied any presence of the party's weapons, ammunition or missiles at the port, and demanded a "transparent" investigation while warning against "politicising it"; a position repeated later in the party's battle with the investigator Tarek Bitar.
