●The Arab force withdraws from Lebanon
PartiesArab League / Arab states
After the Arab League extended the Arab Deterrent Force's mandate at the Beiteddine conference (October 1978), Sudan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE announced their intention to withdraw, and their units left Lebanon in the first months of 1979 (January–April) after a short extension at Lebanon's request; the force remained purely Syrian until its mandate expired in 1983.
