✍Israel's cabinet offers a conditional implementation of resolution 425

On 1 April 1998 Netanyahu's government decided to accept Resolution 425 and withdraw from South Lebanon on condition of security arrangements guaranteeing an end to resistance operations and guarantees for the Lebanese army and Lahd's army; Lebanon and Syria rejected the offer as a "conditional withdrawal" that kept the occupation in another form, and held to a full, unconditional withdrawal.
