☠Sheikh Ahmad Abdel Wahed shot at an army checkpoint

On 20 May 2012 Sheikh Ahmad Abdel Wahed and his companion Mohammed Merheb were shot dead by army soldiers at the Kweikhat checkpoint in Akkar on his way to a rally against the Syrian regime; his killing inflamed Sunni anger and led to the Beirut clashes the next day.
