✸Storming of the Ali al-Taher position

On 6 February 1987 the mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance stormed the Ali al-Taher position, destroyed it completely and killed its garrison (15 collaborators), and killed seven Israeli soldiers in a patrol that tried to reinforce it; four resistance fighters were martyred (Samir Mattout, Hassan Shukr, Jaafar al-Mawla, Hassan Kesrouani). It is held that Israel began applying the "Hannibal protocol" (shelling its own forces together with the attacking force to prevent capture) at this operation.
