On 26 May 2000, at the victory rally in Bint Jbeil, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah presented the Israeli withdrawal as "the first victory" that "founds a new era" and the first Arab land recovered by force, crediting the martyrs, Iran and Syria; he said the militia had collapsed without bloodshed and demanded the trial of the collaborators, promised the return of the prisoners Obeid, Dirani and Kuntar, affirmed that the Shebaa Farms remained under occupation and that the party did not seek to replace the state; then he answered the Israeli threats with his famous phrase: "By God, it is feebler than a spider's web."
