In May 2005 the Future Movement and the Progressive Socialist Party allied with the Amal Movement and Hezbollah on joint lists in Beirut, the South and the Bekaa (the "quadripartite alliance"), sweeping the elections at the expense of the Christians and Aoun; the alliance fell apart within months.
