⚔The fall of Krak des Chevaliers

On 20 March 2014, days after the fall of Yabroud, the Syrian army backed by Hezbollah retook Krak des Chevaliers and the adjoining town in the western Homs countryside after fierce fighting; it had been in the opposition's hands since July 2011. The battle aimed to cut the gunmen's supply routes for fighters and weapons from Lebanon through Wadi Khaled and Talkalakh.
