✸The Aramta operation

On 28 April 2000 the mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance stormed the fortified Aramta position in the Jezzine district, where Lahd's army men were entrenched, and destroyed it completely, under the field command of Ali Ayoub, a son of the town, and the supervision of Hajj Imad Mughniyeh; the party counted it "the opening of the era of liberation" and one of the decisive blows with which the militia's defeat and flight began a month before the withdrawal.
