●Nasrallah: Covid is a "humanitarian battle"

On 28 March 2020 Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah described the confrontation with Covid as "a humanitarian battle" and "a war that may be long", bigger than the government, calling for national mobilisation and the contribution of the rich, doctors, hotel owners and private hospitals, and the coordination of the mutual-aid associations; he asked the state to bring back the Lebanese stranded abroad with testing and quarantine, warned against hoarding and price rises, criticised the banks for donating only six million dollars, and called for solving the issue of small depositors and students' transfers; he praised the government for taking responsibility and called on the opposition not to resort to abuse.
